So as mentioned earlier, D’Angelo, has come out of retirement/sabbatical and is currently on tour through Europe. Because we all couldn’t wait for a new album, the guys over at OkayPlayer recruited DJ/producer  Sam Champ to cut together a D’Angelo Live mix from the recordings of the tour. Most of the songs are D’Angelo classic, but there are a few [...]

Above, get a serving of “Chicken Grease”  with a side of “Devil’s Pie.” For the youths, if you don’t remember D’Angelo from back in the day, [...]

This past week Amy Winehouse’s posthummous LP Lioness dropped on iTunes. Never seen by the public [...]

The Mighty Mos Def also chimes in on the Gulf oil spill with a song at the Gulf Aid Benefit concert in New Orleans. “The GULF AID benefit concert raised funds for wetland recovery efforts, fishermen and their families as oil continues to gush into the gulf.”

The IIIrd World was representing at this Lupe, B.o.B, Dosage concert. Despite the jackass yelling, this video very accurately captures how dope the concert was.

During Grammy weekend in L.A., Common, Colbie Caillat, Zac Brown, Nas and other artists were speakers at the BMI hosted panel, How I Wrote That Song. In this clip, watch Com perform an acoustic version of “The Light” with Zac Brown and Colbie Caillat. It’s a great example of how music is universal.
